The Muskogee (Seminole/Creek) Documentation Project, led by linguist Dr. Jack Martin, archives the Mvskoke language through several primary categories of material. The project is built upon contemporary field interviews with fluent elders and recordings of traditional hymns, alongside the mid-20th-century linguistic data and phonetic transcriptions of Mary Haas and Mary Hill. These sources are integrated with the Earnest Gouge collection, which preserves historical stories and cultural narratives written in the Mvskoke alphabet. This collection at the College of the Muscogee Nation utilizes these specific records to provide the linguistic and historical framework for the contents presented.
